A Little Stravinsky (figuratively and a little NFSW)

I don’t really get Igor, but there is no question that he is a genius. I can say the same about Rothko. Though in small doses, both can be inspiring. With the weather getting warmer and the clock moving forward, it is that time of year (almost). The shovelers seem to have gotten the message. Then again, they are more primal by nature.

On an August Day

It was, for August in the Washington D.C. area, a relatively cool day.  In the midst of summer, it was time for a walk in the garden, to take the sun in, to find that even in the undulating continuum that we call life, beauty always beckons, just waiting for us to find it.  We need not look far.  It is always within ourselves, if one decides to live a life not solely for one’s self but also for others.  Happiness comes not from selfish abandon but from selfless generosity.

Springing to Life in Arlington

A beautiful morning to go to the wildlife refuge and look (and photograph) birds and other wildlife was in the offing on the last day of March, 2018.  Unfortunately, errands must be run (life is not all for the birds after all).  With camera in hand, the trip to the Department of Motor Vehicles was at least uninteresting.  April, here we come.
